My Testimony

I recently got married in August and moved in with my husband about a week or so before the wedding. It was my first time leaving my mothers house so of course I was not very familiar with having to pay rent and pay bills and such. The only bill I’d ever had was (you guessed it) my cell phone bill which I paid faithfully on time. With paying for the wedding, honeymoon, rent, and bills money seemed to get really small really fast and it was very discouraging. The day after my wedding on my honeymoon in Hawaii I was robbed. They took all of our money and we were forced to leave the next day. So you can imagine that didn’t help me in my already discouraged state. We came back and had barely enough money in our bank acct. to eat for a few days and our rent was due. For the next month or so our bank acct. never seemed to change. It seemed like every time we got paid we were just handing it over to someone else for our bills. Throughout all of this we continued to pray to God asking him to bless us in the area of our finances. We did this just about every day and I didn’t see any change. We were living paycheck to paycheck. So one day I broke down to God in anger because I couldn’t understand why I’d been praying and (trying my best to) having faith that he would bless our finances and he told me what I was doing wrong. The bible says in Matthew 6:33: 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. I had not been seeking first his kingdom I had been seeking the money. So from then on I asked that God’s hand be on our lives. I realize that I was depending on the money to supply my needs instead of God being my supplier. Phillipians 4:19 tells me my God will meet all my needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. The money was not my supplier…which I should’ve caught on to since I was falling into debt. Now I am happy to say only one month later that all our bills are paid on time, and we are no longer living from paycheck to paycheck. Bless God for showing me how he can supply my need. Not only did he take me out of debt but he gave me the wisdom to know how to spend and save my money wisely and best of all I now have peace of mind. Thank you Father!!!
