Hello, my name is Anthony.
I was twelve years old when I confessed Jesus as my personal Savior. Even though I did not fully understand the significance of it then, as I grew and continue to grow in faith, knowledge, and understanding, I realize that He is the entire world to me. I remember I used to go to with my friend and the youth of his church to conferences out of town. As I would watch whoever it was that was talking/ministering on stage, I could not help but notice the passion, conviction and fervor that they had and spoke with!
I began saying to myself, I want to grow and become like them, to know the Lord in the way that they know Him and to openly express my love for Him. I have to admit, but I know all of His children go through it; times when you just want to give up and throw in the towel. Sometimes when I knew I had done the wrong things I used to think that the Lord would love me less, but thank God for His Word that says in Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Reading that scripture, I had to realize that in spite of the promises I had made and broken, or when I said I would do something and did not follow through, or when I promised I would not do something and did it anyway, He was and is ALWAYS there!! I had to learn that there is no trial, addiction, situation or circumstance that will EVER take us out of His loving care. He loves us in spite of! I’m so grateful to know a God, even with all of our faults; He sees every one of our needs! No He does not like it when we sin and do wrong, and yes He knows we will mess up because we are not perfect. Yet, He is so abounding in love, faithfulness, grace and mercy that He will give us all another chance, over and over again. If we sincerely ask for forgiveness and repent, He will forgive and forget too. In Isaiah 43:25 the Lord says, “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” Again, thank God for His word!
Day by day, prayer by prayer, verse by verse, trial by trial, and test by test, I know that God will never leave me to be alone. We are never alone because He is always there! It brings me joy to know that without a doubt I am saved. There is no greater reward!! And the amazing thing is, none of us deserve it, but through grace we are saved! Of course some will say how can you believe? You have never seen His footsteps, never seen His face, nor have you ever touched Him. How can you believe in someone who is so powerful and awesome, all knowing and all seeing? Just look around…at the Earth and skies, look at the land and the sea! Nobody but God could create you and me! Everything that He does, He does it well. Just have faith my friend and believe. You have nothing at all to lose, but you have everything that He has promised and designated for those that love, trust, and obey Him to gain. Just pray this prayer, mean it, and believe that you are saved!
Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for me, and for His blood that was shed to redeem me and to cleanse me from my sins. Lord, I am sorry and I repent of my sins. Forgive me Lord. I understand that I must change the course of my life. I am determined in my heart to follow and obey you. I invite you to become the Lord of my life from this point forward, forever. I openly proclaim and confess that you are the Lord of my life. I believe in my heart that You have been raised from the dead. Therefore I know I am saved. I am a new creature. The old things have passed. All things have become new. I am a child of God. In the Name of Jesus, AMEN!
